I had started with season 3, and now seeing season 1, everything makes more sense! For the sake of other Hazel fans I hope more season 1 becomes available because I’m thinking this was the best, So far so light hearted, and even saying prayers with Hazel by the bedside the way I was raised , and all the familiar ways of life, before computers, cell phones, and Xboxes, and who knows what scary things are around the corner that are taking humanity away Anyway, I can see why Shirly Booth won Academy’s for her acting!
God bless her for agreeing to do this show it’s the best!! Please lower your price on these fantastic shows!! Of all of the shows that came out of the ‘s Hazel is my absolute favorite.
I was one of those people who probably saw more than my share of the sitcoms from that decade, but most of them, in my mind doesn’t even begin to hold a candle to HAZEL. She was your all-around busybody. She was always in everybody’s business. She was always a Miss-Know-It-All. She was always fixing everybody’s problems. And she tried to be a friend to everyone.
I’m not quite sure if I could stomach a person like her. She is likable, She is even lovable, and I can see where she would really bug me. But she would probably be great as a friend, though. I bought this first season after learning that the next three were available. I had wanted to purchase this season for awhile but I didn’t want to start buying another series that wasn’t being released.
The exception is, there is some sort of Promotional Material on Season 4, but that isn’t what I am referring to. Griffin, both wind up in bed with a cold, Hazel nurses the both of them. This is the episode that introduces the character Mr.
This is the only episode in this season that is in color. Plus, The “Hazel Theme Song” disappears after this episode. This is the only episode that George’s sister Phyllis and her husband Sam appears on the show. Phyllis was also the “sweet sister”. The introduction of the opening of the show changes on this episode. Hazel comes out of the front door and waves to The Baxter’s, who has returned from a trip.
She rushes out to the car and hugs everybody. The client sees Hazel as someone who is meddling in his business. So he demands that Hazel be fired. George disagrees. Hazel quits, but not for real, to work for The Johnson’s.
Then her petition to prevent “Rainbow Lake” from being drained falls through and it becomes a thing of the past. And Hazel returns home. But George intervenes and tries to set Stan up with one of his partner’s sister, which Hazel cleverly sabotages.

This Credit Opening was used in the last Episode in Season 3 in It was also used during the Summer Reuns. Then one more time for the Opening Credits on the first Episode of Season 4.
Every Opening Episode after that one is the “Keys” Opening. On some of the Episodes, we see “Colorful Dancing Sticks”. That seemed to gave happened a few times during this Season. Now I know that these are not changes to the show. Only physical changes concerning the cast. After this Season, we also will no longer see: MR. So Dorothy suggest that George invites them both to Dinner for the signing.
The trouble is whose “Dinner Choice” will Hazel choose to serve. Hazel then gets George to agree to buy a 30 Foot FlagPole. And he puts them on a budget. Hazel has a difficult time holding her tongue against his rudeness.
Besides not enough cabinet space, there is a need for more Electrical Outlets and appliances that needs to be fixed. So Hazel and Dorothy devices a plan to get George to remodel the kitchen. When Hazel comes over and sees a Negligee in one of their trash cans, she gives it to Rita.
When Rita confronts Harry about the Negligee he came up with a silly explanation. But Hazel disagrees and sets the wheels in motion to change his mind. Durham and her dog, “Rodney”. So she comes up with an ingenius plan to get rid of Mrs. Durham and her dog. Hazel is oblivious to the problem until Harold’s Teacher points it out to her. She then realizes that Harold is growing up and won’t be needing her much longer. The problem is, the ticket isn’t legitimate, because it’s connected to illegal Gambling Activities.
But it turns out that a faulty cord on a Heating Pad was the real cause. EGAN finds some bugging equipment in his office and is worried that someone is stealing his business secrets. It’s Hazel, to the rescue, as she help him to solve the mystery. But then she soon finds out that “Donald Burton” wasn’t very scrupulous.
She then winds up with 2 jobs after she invest in a Bakery, owned by Mr. In fact, though HAZEL had one more season, there wasn’t any closure for any of the characters or storylines.
So many went unfinished or underdeveloped. We don’t know if it was Eddy Burke whom Nancy married. Or even if Eddy and Nancy finished College. And of course, the most talked about disappearance from the show were George and Dorothy. I think the fans would have wanted to see them brought back and reunited with Harold. I would have wanted to see her finally find happiness. It’s really sad to think that everytime I look at this show almost every one in it is gone.
No more “Golly Mr. B’s”, for example. It certainly would be better than anything that is put on television today. As a child, I remember loving this show, along with the other classics of the late s and s. Although too young to remember some of them, I was old enough to remember Hazel. The family consists of “Mr. B” the attorney and head of the family, although if truth be known, I always felt Hazel was the one in charge.
Missy, George’s wife, has known Hazel since she was a child and is the perfect complement to her husband. An interior decorator with excellent taste, she and Hazel have a very loving relationship and Missy can be counted on to run interference when Hazel and Mr. B butt heads.
Then there is the adorable Harold, better known as “Sport,” who is such a sweet little boy who worships Hazel and considers her a hero. The acting is superb and the storylines are anything but sappy. This series proves that wholesome programs have a place in society and with it, there is always a valuable lesson to be learned.
And while all of them are no longer with us, it is comforting that their brilliance is on record and the days when the simple things were the best can truly live on! I love this show even though it was on when I was a very little girl. Somehow it was embedded into my memory. When I watch Hazel it makes all bad things of this crazy world go away for awhile. I have even used my Hazel dvd’s to fall asleep at night. There’s no cursing, no sexual inuendos, just goodness, laughter, hearttouching moments and joy.
This dvd set arrived in A 1 condition and on time. I can’t order all of the time or a bunch at a time so I’m not able to take advantage of the free shipping. I’ve been ordering for a long time and feel that I should receive some special consideration.

It’s a fun trip back in time.. Hazel will always be a favorite. Here’s hoping that season five isn’t too far away. Despite the fact that the prints aren’t as high quality as we’ve become accustomed to on so many releases, I still go with 5 stars for the show and the fine efforts of Shout Factory. See all reviews. I watched this tv show when i was 13 years old. I liked it very much then and i still like this show as much today. Report abuse. I certainly enjoyed it. Great to see old tv shows as it brings back do many wonderful memories. Wish there were more tv shoes from 50s- 70s at reasonable prices in Canada.

Hazel was one of the funniest shows on television and it is too bad there are not shows on today like this show which every member of the family could watch as there was no bad language or sexual innuendo. It is Hazel as we know her. It is Hazel as we know her, opiniated. It is the last season with the original actors and they have that chemistry that makes us enjoy watching the episodes.
