Microsoft office 2016 says unlicensed product free
I bought a Lenovo laptop brand new back in from Best Buy. I purchased it with a version of Office loaded on the machine the product key was on a sticker. I installed it and it has worked fine up until today. Today, I got a notice saying Office needed to update, so I let it do that. And when I booted back in to Word, it was saying that my office is unlicensed.
This is really irritating. I bought this in and have had no problems up until today. Since it was two years ago, I don’t have the product key anywhere and can’t find it.
I’m pretty sure I threw the sticker away. I don’t understand why it would suddenly be saying unlicensed when I have purchased it already. I need to use office and haven’t had an issue until now. I’m especially upset because I bought the laptop with it on it. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. It is usually for the Windows Operating System. Download the free BelArc Advisor and use it to create an inventory of your computer. That inventory will included details of the applications that are installed together with their Product Keys where applicable.
Using the Belarc advisor will not “fix” the problem. However, it may reveal the Product Key for your Office installation. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. So I have tried everything I can think of to fix this issue but am coming up empty. So to fix it, I: Went into apps and saw that Office was showing next to office I uninstalled Office Tried to open , still showing unlicensed, so I did both quick repair and full repair 2x to try and fix the issue.

Preinstalled Mircosoft Office are not activated you need to have a product key to activate the Office, if you don’t have product key the best solution is to purchase a license since we are not allowed to use any unlicensed microsoft product.

You are really trying your hardest to be unhelpful, aren’t you. Sorry i was not able to resolve your concern. Of course I’m sure. I would not be asking this question if I wasn’t. I had a trial version of Office on my computer, but decided to install my version of Office Home and Student since I had already paid for it but never installed it. During the installation I was told “can’t install 32 bit version as 64 bit already on computer.
How come? How do I fix this! Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. I expect you will see you have 2 copies of Office, something like this, but both not activated. You have to uninstall the trial. It is intercepting the product key when you try to activate your , but does NOT display any error message. After uninstalling do an Office repair of That may be enough to activate it.
Otherwise you will have to try to activate it one more time. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. Search the community and support articles Install, redeem, activate Microsoft and Office Search Community member.

In response to your question, you might be experiencing this issue if you have multiple office version on your system. I hope this has helped you.
