[SOLVED] APC Network Shutdown with ESXi Free?.Tutorial – APC UPS PowerChute Network Shutdown installation on Vmware ESXi
I’ve got a client I’m working on getting the paid version of ESXi, but they can be stingy. So far I’ve not found a way to get the network shutdown to work without a paid version of ESXi, but wondered if anyone here has had any success with that? Not currently because the information I saw are what ClintWalkerZ just posted, that it requires a license.

The free ESXi isn’t really designed to be used as a production use system, it’s free so people like you and I can use it on labs, yes it is stable enough for production use, but it’s not designed to be production, if you or they choose to use it as such, you lose the ability to access the APi for things like backup and shutdown control.
Will give obligatory I tried to make it work but if you want proper network shutdown you will have to purchase license which is what I thought from beginning. Thanks everyone for the confirmation.
