The colors, lighting, animation effects, easy controls, and satisfying puzzles make this series one of my faves of all time it’s impossible to pick just one favorite.
All but Trine 3 are side-scrolling platformers. But what makes these different than other platformers is that the focus of the game is using the three characters’ respective strengths to solve puzzles that allow you to continue your progress.
Combat is infrequent and simple. This isn’t a hack and slash type game. There are already many of those. People unfortunately didn’t give Trine 3 a chance because it was 3D instead of 2D.
But it is a good game. I understand the devs’ curiosity about branching out a bit for some variety, but this game does lend itself better to 2D. I understand the disappointment, but your low star rating gives others the impression that the games themselves aren’t great.

Alright so first off there’s a chart that says trine are download codes so the 1 star reviews don’t know what they are talking about. Even the description about the game also states that the three games are digital. Another thing, there was a question posted about this issue. I wish all were on the cartridge but its whatever. I love the reversible cover and the map is amazing. The soundtrack is relaxing and great to listen too. I don’t want to have to go through the hassle of returning this game just to get what I paid for in the first place.
